NOTES:

 For Wingnut Wings Pfalz D.IIIa

The Pfalz D.IIIa was widely used from late 1917 to the end of the war.  While considered inferior to the Albatros D.V, and certainly to the Fokker D.VII, it was still a widely-seen type in the German Jastas.

Supplemental to the release of their excellent 1/32 Pfalz D.IIIa kit, Wingnut Wings has released two sheets of decals for additional aircraft.  These are all for colorful airplanes, and make one consider obtaining more kits to do more of these.

Sheet 30019 includes markings for six aircraft:

            Pfalz D.IIIa 1296/18. Jasta 56 in late 1918

Pfalz D.IIIa 8178/17, flown by Rudolf Stark, Jasta 34b

Pfalz D.IIIa 8284/17, flown by Jakob Pollinger, Jasta 77b

            Pfalz D.IIIa 8304/17, late 1918

            Pfalz D.IIIa, Jasta 37, late 1918

            Pfalz D.IIIa Marine Field Jasta, mid-late 1918

Several of these aircraft have lozenge fabric, for which a modeler will wish to obtain the excellent WNW lozenge decals.
