NOTES:

 For Wingnut Wings Pfalz D.IIIa

The Pfalz D.IIIa was widely used from late 1917 to the end of the war.  While considered inferior to the Albatros D.V, and certainly to the Fokker D.VII, it was still a widely-seen type in the German Jastas.

Supplemental to the release of their excellent 1/32 Pfalz D.IIIa kit, Wingnut Wings has released two sheets of decals for additional aircraft.  These are all for colorful airplanes, and make one consider obtaining more kits to do more of these.

Sheet 30020includes markings for five aircraft, all of which were flown by well-known aces:

             Pfalz D.IIIa 5895/17, Franz Haller, Jasta 29, 1917-18

            Pfalz D.IIIa 8170/17, Hans Bohning, Jasta 79b, June 1918

Pfalz D.IIIa, Rudolf Berthold, JG II, June 1918

Pfalz D.IIIa, Carl Degelow, Jasta 7, March 1918

Pfalz D.IIIa, Werner Hertel, Jasta 40s

Two of these aircraft have lozenge fabric, for which a modeler will wish to obtain the excellent WNW lozenge decals.
