AirDOC has been building quite a reputation for quality books on a variety of subjects and continues with this edition on the North American F-86K Sabre. The book understandably concentrates on those aircraft that have served with the German Air Force and gives complete unit operations along with a plethora of superb photographs.

Opening with a brief history of the gun-nosed version, I found it interesting that all the lengthening I thought was in the nose section was actually just aft of the wings. Those modelers wishing to do a conversion might want to note that. In the development section are some superb color photos of aircraft from various NATO countries and Venezuela, the country that eventually got most of Germany's F-86Ks.

The book then goes into Germany's purchase and operations of the type with descriptions of its brief career with various wings. In with this are descriptions of what it was like to fly the aircraft, the special training that was needed for all-weather interception in the early 1960s and a most interesting look into the life of the enlisted personnel of the time.

This is followed by a technical description of the airframe and systems then a listing of German F-86K serials, codes and known attrition and final destination. The book ends with superb color four views of the camouflaged versions as well as 1/72 line drawings. Probably the best part of the book are the large number of quality black and white and color images of the F-86K while it was in service from 1960-1966. A superb book and one that I know you will find as well done as did I.
