As nice as digital media can be, many of us would just as soon have a book. I know, books take up room, they are heavy to ship, they are prone to all sorts of damage, and so on. However, they don't require power to read and can be taken anywhere. They are also a lot more handy to have available when one is doing work/research away from the computer.

This is the second book that Dataview have produced from an existing CD. The result is a very nice photo book of the equipment at the Steamtown museum in Pennsylvania. In here you will find that there are are large images of the overall subject as well as a few smaller ones showing close-ups of items of interest. The images are nice and crisp with lots of detail visible.

As with the CD, there are different sections on the locomotives, rolling stock and special equipment, most with a brief description. I did note a bit of white space, but really, not as much as I've seen in many other self-produced books.

If steam locomotives and the rolling stock of the 40s and 50s are your interest, you should seriously consider ordering this book.
