Ju-188/388 part 2 by Robert Michulec
90 pages with foldouts

$18.49 softcover, 1998
AJ Press, Gdansk, Poland

AJ Press has been producing excellent books covering a variety of interesting subjets for many years.  The downside of them was that they were in Polish. I have a number of excellent books in Polish, however I have always felt I was missing something.  Like the ability to read them!

Recently AJ Press has released a number of thier books in English and it is well worth the wait. This and part 1 are the first of these I have bought. Needless to say, since then a few more have snuck into my library.  They are truly very good and generally cover less published aircraft, like the Ju-188 and Ju-388.

Each edition is 'profusely illustrated' with both black and white photos and a nice selection of color profiles.  In addition, there is a good history of the type.

What really stands out in these books are the drawings.  There are several double page foldouts, with each subtype shown so that we modelers can do the correct version.  There is a portion of one of the foldouts at the bottom of the page.

Among the more interesting snippets of information discovered in its pages, was that the French Navy used a number of Ju-188s after the war for maritime patrol. This would make an interesting subject that is not often seen!

A super book and highly recommended.
