This is another of the fine special publications from Mr.Black. This one concentrates on WWII and offers 14 different subjects, each presented in a variety of forms. Some are quite complex articles with lots of 'how to' information, while others are simply a page or two that shows that finished product and a small write-up from the builder. The majority of articles run inbetween the two extremes.

There are two full diorama articles, both in 50mm (1/35) that include vehicles. One with a Panzer II and the other with a Simca 5. This is followed by a German soldier figure from Kharkov in 1943. In fact, the majority of articles feature German subjects with a few Soviet along with a Brit, Yank, and Japanese soldier tossed into the mix. I guess it shows where the real interest in WWII figures actually lies.

Next is an SS soldier  in 1/24 scale (75mm), followed by a US B.A.R. gunner in 50mm. The lone Japanese soldier is an officer in 75mm, with the next article a DAK officer bust in 120mm. Another bust is in 110mm and is a quite detailed article on a Soviet soldier. Another DAK subject is a combined set of a German and Italian tanker in 50mm. Another two-fer are a pair of German soldiers in Stalingrad, also in 50mm. This is followed by another bust, this time in 180mm of a German soldier in the Afrika Korps. The next offering is a five figure set from Masterbox in 1/35 scale built into a very nice diorama. Our lone Brit is another 50mm figure and the final offering is a pair of Soviet soldiers in a winter scene, also in 1/35 scale.

In all, this is another excellent volume that provides some outstanding work and many very helpful building and painting ideas that you will surely find useful.
