Edition #25 of Luftwaffe im Focus has been published following a bit of a hiatus while the folks at Start gather together materials for publication. As time goes on, original images and material becomes more and more scarce and so a bit more difficult to locate. Some collectors also demand a rather high fee to share their images, so that often can cause delays. I also seem to have missed #24 which accounts for the nearly two year delay.

This particular edition is a very nice mixture of articles. Included in them is a nice one on the efforts of the propaganda folks to produce a piece on the He-177. As you can see from the cover image, the camera man stood on a platform, placing the lens up against the perspex. For the in flight images, the engines were started and the crew inside went through the motions of flying a mission. I dare say that similar things were done by the Allies, but rarely externally filmed. Hence all those images of pilots in flight taken from low angles so you could not see they were still on the ground!

A piece on an early war He-111 base with lots of color images is one of the treasures of this issue. There are also articles and images on unit hacks, training 109Fs, Hs-129s and a mission against British Spitfires in the Calais region during 1940/41. Want to see photos of an Ar-96 trainer with dive brakes? It is in this edition along with a story of how these came to be.

All this and more awaits you in this edition. If you have an interest in the Luftwaffe and want to read and see more than what is usually published in the standard offerings, then this is for you.
