This is the second sheet of at least two covering the P-47 Thunderbolt in USAAF service; mainly in Europe and the Mediterranean. There are a nice variety of subjects on the sheet and the recommended kit is, of course, the Tamiya versions. Not to say that others could not be used, but that is the kit for which the decals were sized.

So let's get to what is on the sheet, as shown on the sheet cover.

The initial option is something one sees infrequently, a shark mouth P-47. This is a P-47D-15 from the 525th FS/86th FG in October of 1944. Lt. Riley Stewart's plane is in OD over Neutral Grey and sports the unit's red striped rudder and red forward cowling/spinner. THe plane has yellow wing bands and this yellow extends to the under wing pylons. Early 'toothpick' Curtiss-Electric prop on this one and no wheel discs.

In unpainted metal with full invasion stripes is 'Maggie V' of the 350th FS/353rd FG in mid 1944. This aircraft needs to have the nose painted yellow prior to the installation of the checks. As it is a P-47D-25, it has a Hamilton Standard prop

The third offering is another Hamilton Standard driven P-47D-25, this time from the 361st FS/356th FS. All the upper surface stripes on the OD over unpainted metal plane have been over-painted with fresh OD. The upper surface wing leading edges are also unpainted metal. On the underside are full invasion and ID stripes along with the white ID stripe on the fin.

Finally, from the 65th FS/57th FG, we have' Lt Thomas Bowers' "Uncle Tom's Cabin", a P-47D-38 with the symmetrical paddle blade prop. Trim in this one is a red prop hub and forward cowling with alternate yellow cowl flaps. The wing and fin stripes are yellow with black outlines. The black outlines are included on the sheet. Note that the pylons are also yellow.

The instructions are superb, offering all sorts of interesting information on each aircraft and are in full color. Decals are equally well printed in Poland and some of the markings are offered in several parts should you decide to go that route. There also seems to be enough insignia to do all the options.
