A real workhorse and a plane that was the first major purchase of many of the world's airlines was the C-54 Skymaster or DC-4 in civilian terms. This is Caracal Models second sheet on this airplane and it is designed for the new Revell kit.

The sheet covers nine markings options including some very colorful planes that will require a bit of masking. I should mention that several of the markings options call for international orange to be used. Looking at period photos of some of these, I am of the opinion that some of these are actually day-glo. This was a widely used color until the mid 1960s. The choice is yours, of course, as the international orange will be a lot easier to paint. Note also that some of these options have a non-radar nose and there are some antenna differences that you will quickly note when looking at the profiles. I particularly like that a WWII era plane is included in the mix.

So here is what is in the set for set it is with four different sheets:

C-54Q BuNo. 56501, US Naval Test Pilot School, US Navy 1973

C-54Q BuNo. 91998, NAS Keflavik, US Navy 1967

C-54D BuNo. 56534, VR-24, US Navy 1966

C-54D BuNo. 56528, VX-6, US Navy 1965

C-54 42-32936, US Army Air Force 1943

C-54G 45-602, 83 ATS, USAF 1954

SC-54D 42-72702, USAF 1963

SC-54D 42-72696, USAF 1963

VC-54D 42-72722, 127 TRW, Michigan ANG, USAF 1971

The decals themselves are superbly printed by Cartograf. The instructions are well done and give some additional info about the planes. The recommended kit is the recent Revell offering, but those into vacuform can also find one, though the manufacturer escapes me at the moment.
