Notes:

For the most part, modern military aircraft are pressurized to 10,000 feet so they can operate at higher altitudes. To do this, the windows, canopies and windscreens need to be equipped with a gasket to help keep the pressure in the aircraft. On many jets, this seal is easily seen as it is a different color from the surrounding airframe. As modelers, many of us are hesitant to add what are in effect tiny slivers of color to our clear bits as it often requires considerable masking to get them just right. (Wait a minute, haven't I read this somewhere before? Yes. Yes you have.)

Fortunately, we have folks like Furball Aero-Design who come to our rescue with decals to simulate these gaskets. In this case, we have a sheet that includes gasket decals for the rather large number of Eduard 1/48 MiG-21 kits. Of course, these are not for the early versions with the forward opening canopy, but all the others after that. In line with other similar sets from Furball, this contains sufficient for two planes. These even include the seals for around the rear view mirror. One would like to think these would fit the Trumpeter and perhaps others, but these are not designed for them so you are on your own in this regard. the ancient Hawk kit as well, but no promises in this regard. This is one of only several sets they offer so check them out to see if they have something for your next jet build.
