Another in the range of Montex decal masks (sounds like the right name to call these), is for the P-51D Mustang. This set was designed for the Trumpeter kit, but I believe there is another P-51D out there by Bandai or someone similar and this set should work on that as well.

There are markings for two aircraft in the set, both from the 77FS/20 FG. The upper aircraft carries their late war markings with the black design on the upper cowling. This aircraft also has a black nose with a white tip and is named "Maggie"

The second example is an early P-51D without the fin fillet. 'It's the Kid' also has the black nose of the group but not the black design. This aircraft has Olive Drab upper surfaces, undoubtedly only a partial removal of the paint as directed by USAAF command in 1944.

The set includes both inner and outer canopy masks and sufficient insignia markings to do one of the two aircraft on the sheet. A most interesting way of doing markings and it will be interesting to see if this catches on. Again, I have shown only the guide as the masks themselves are quite difficult to see.

My thanks to Design and Marketing International for the review set. Visit them to order this and other fine Montex sets.
