NOTES:

For any applicable 1/48 early P-40

The next interwar decal sheet from Starfighter Decals is for the 1/48 early P-40. For those wondering what a P-40G might be, it one of 43 P-40 aircraft fitted with the wings of the Tomahawk Mk IIA. All but one of the schemes is in olive drab over neutral grey.

There are seven options on this sheet.

First up is a P-40B from the 33rd PS/ 35th PG in 1941. This one has a fuselage star, a red spinner on a white nose and two yellow fuselage bands.

Next is a P-40G from the 77th PS/20th PG in 1941. This plane has a white spinner with no rudder stripes.

From the 79th PS/20th PG in 1941 is this yellow spinner aircraft. This one has the rudder stripes.

Fourth is from the 55th PS/35th PG in 1941. it has a white spinner and rudder stripes.

The one different plane is from the 31st FS/6th AF in December 1942. This one has a white underside and later insignia.

With a red spinner and yellow flash on the nose is a plane from the 57th PG in early 1942.

Finally a plane from the 20th PS/24th PG in the Philippines in early 1941. Like the previous plane, it has no rudder stripes and fuselage insignia.

Though no kit is recommended, it should fit those from Monogram, Trumpeter, Bronco and the new Airfix kit. I know I have several projects slated for this sheet. I'd recommend picking yours up soon as it is bound to sell out quickly.

Here is a photo of the fourth option in 1/72 scale on the Airfix kit:
