NOTES:

For the Accurate Miniatures/Monogram 1/72 kit.

This is a very nice conversion set with decals from our friends at Starfighter Decals. This is designed for the Monogram F4B-4 that has also been released by Accurate Miniatures. The actual conversion is quite simple and consists of removing and replacing the fin on the kit with the resin replacement offered in the set.

As sometimes conversion sets do not provide markings, this one is not like that. You get a great decal sheet that includes markings for three aircraft. Two of them are shown on the cover sheet. The upper one with the horizontal stripes on the cowling and rudder is from Headquarters, USMC and was used for aerobatic displays. The next is one from VF-1B in 1933 and has their red fuselage band along with red empennage. The third option, which is not shown, is from VB-4M, a USMC unit that did light bombing. This unit had a white engine cowling and the usual vertical rudder stripes. This unit can be seen in the movie "Devil Dogs of the air."

This conversion set is about as easy as they come and having the decals is a real bonus.
