This upgrade piece replaces the upper cowling on the recent Eduard 1/48 Spitfire IX. Apparently Eduard molded this piece in two parts and this replacement eliminates the need to deal with the seam.  This is a flat upper cowling section and is a direct replacement. As always, the part is easy to remove from the resin pour stub and the resin molding is flawless.
