HISTORY

From what I understand after watching all sorts of King Arthur movies, this was a popular sport amongst the landed gentry. Nothing like a ton or so of armored horse and rider all coming at you with that force concentrated on a small spear tip. Had to be great fun!

THE KIT

The kit consists of six sprues; the two for the majority of the particupants and various bowmen and pike men being identical. Not really sure what those folks are doing in a pleasant tournament, but I am guessing they were originally molded for another set.  The riders, spears and some other bits will need to be glued on and according to the box top, you can glue these sets with normal cements, though no real details of this are provided.

The other two sprues are for some heavy horses and their riders as well as various court types that include dandies and ladies in waiting. the other sprue includes a dais and the boards that separate the tournament participants. As flexi as the plastic is, I did have one broken spear on the sprues so care does need to be taken with these.

No instructions in the box, but the back of the box shows how some of the bits assemble. For painting the colorful box art and the painting guide on the back provide Model Master and generic paint references.

CONCLUSIONS

For those into wargaming, I'm sure this will help to fill the bill and at a most reasonable price when compared to metal figures. Others with an imagination are undoubtedly thinking up some sort of 'Twilight Zone' offshoot......
