Recently you read a review on some Mossie bits produced by Ultracast. The reviewer was quite pleased about the quality of the products offered. Just the other day, a small parcel arrived at my door from the Ultracast folks. Inside were a number of goodies, many of them for the 1/48 ICM Spitfire. This is the first of a series of reviews of what was in that box. 

Today, we take a look at Spitfire wheels. Those of you who are into the Spitfire, realize that over the development of the aircraft, there were a number of different wheels produced for them. Now you have a superb set of replacements for the kit ones from Ultracast. The quality of the moldings is truly superb. Not a blemish anywhere to be found. They are flattened and much better, not grossly bulged as one sees from a certain US company's products.

Four sets of wheels were sent:

• #48064: Three-spoked wheels
• #48065: Four-spoked wheels
• #48066: Five spoked wheels
• #48067: Covered hub wheels

 As you can see by the enlarged images to the right, these wheels are superbly done, with fine detailing that is really top notch. Any of these will really add a lot to your 1/48 Spitfire. There will be an upcoming build article using a number of the items that Ultracast has sent. Stay tuned!
