According to those who know, the best 1/72 A-10 on the market is the Italeri version that has also been reboxed by Revell of Germany. I haven't built it myself, but it has to be better than the older Hasegawa version and even more ancient Matchbox kit.

The purpose of aftermarket sets is to either provide more accurate bits than what come with the kit or to offer options that the kit does not. In this case, it is both. This detail set will allow the modeler to really add a lot to the Italeri kit. To make things a bit shorter, it includes a new cockpit as well as a full 30mm gun and bay as well as the various forward access hatches. Of course, some surgery is required to fit these parts in the kit, but that task should not be too difficult for those modelers who are seriously thinking about using this set.

For resin you have new gear and access doors, a new nose, a full gun bay and nose gear well. Those little resin 'sticks' that you see are actually the individual gun barrels. A new cockpit with sidewalls, seat, control stick and instrument panel/glare shield. In etched metal is the instrument panel itself, rudder pedals, and bits for the seat. in addition, there are various canopy items like braces, and mirrors. As I said, a most comprehensive detail set.
